Here we are at the end of July and finally getting some cooler temperatures. It has been in the 80's since almost early spring!
Pink Glasses V - Alyssa Many |
GREAT NEWS! Alyssa Many has joined Flowing Colors Studio and we have a visiting artist, Katya Alexeeva . Many and Alexeva's works open with the first Friday Reception on August 3, 2018, 5-8 PM. Light refreshments will be served.
Alyssa Many graduated from Herron School of Art and Design in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts majoring in Furniture Design and a second Bachelor’s degree in Art Education. I taught elementary art in the public schools of Indianapolis full-time from 2006-2013. My experience as a juror for a murder trial in 2008 was life-changing for me. As a result of this event, I chose painting as my medium. My symbolic realistic paintings remind us that we are related to everyone and everything in our world.
Works opening in Flowing Colors are from “No Captain, We Share This Universe” a series of oil paintings that illustrate the devastating contrast in realities between those who leave their homes to go to new places for pleasure and those who leave their homes to go to new places for survival. All paintings in this series are for sale and fifty percent of all sales will go to the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project. For more information about this organization, please visit their website at Home - Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) https://asylumadvocacy.org/

I just read an article the other day about a woman who had the train taken off her dress and turned it into a christening gown for her baby and she had the rest of the dress dyed a dark blue and her teenage daughter wore it to her prom.
